  • Is there any way to have Artist and Album info when ripping a WAV file?

Posted by admin on March 3rd, 2010 and filed under album artist | 2 Comments »

When I rip a CD to MP3 or M4A format and then import to iTunes or RealPlayer the Artist and Album fields fill in along with the Song Title. When importing a ripped WAV file I only get the file name (populated under Song Title). Is there anyway to fix this?

No because WAV files do not support id3 tagging which is used to name the artist, album, year, track #, etc etc.

Not really…WAV files were invented before anybody had any idea to create a n Album Info Tagging system.

That said, however, I do know that you can add album information to a WAV file using RealPlayer, but it is associated with the RealPlayer Library and will not carry over to other media players, computers, and it goes away if you ever have to delete your library.

just find the wav file in you RealPlayer Library right click the WAV file and click Edit Tag info.
