  • How to get album covers onto iPod Classic?

Posted by admin on February 11th, 2010 and filed under album covers | 2 Comments »

Just bought an iPod and all the albums i’ve bought through iTunes show up on the player but not the ones that i’ve bought as CD’s.
Any idea how I associate an album cover or other artwork to the album picture?

    (did that make sense?)

okay, this is what you do:

    1) search for the artist that you are looking for so that you have all of their songs (and ONLY their songs) on your itunes page. do this by typing their ame in the box in the upper-right corner

    2) click on the "album" tab, so that the songs are sorted by album. if you only have one album per artist, this can be skipped

    3) right click on the first song, and go to get info (if the album of the song is already entered, then you don’t have to do steps 3-5)

4)put in the song name, artist name, and album name if any of this info is missing

    5) do this for all the songs that you need

    6) now you should highlight (click on) a song and then go to the edit tab and click "select all" (take care at this point not to hit the delete button)

    7) right click on the songs (which are now ALL highlighted) and go down to "get album artwork". you MUST have an internet connection for this part to work. it may take several minutes, depending on how many songs you have

    8) now you should have the album artwork for all your songs- however, if the artist/album is NOT on itunes, then you will not have the artwork
—if this is the case, then right click on the song, go to "get info" and go to the last tab on the box that pops up. this tab will say "artwork". you will have to have the artwork as a picture on your computer (google the album and save the artwork). then just click "add" and browse through your files for the artwork.

hope this helps, it’s what i use!

You just have to make sure that the albums you personally added into iTunes have the correct artist name, album name, and song name (if I am not sure if this is correct, I look up the album in iTunes itself, right-click on the song/album, select "Get Info," and write down the necessary information). After you made sure that the artist, album, and title are correct – right-click on the song you wish to add album artwork to & select "Get Album Artwork" and iTunes will automatically generate the artwork for you.
