Comments on: Do album reviews have to be on new music or can it be on old music?

I generally write reviews of something that I’ve just discovered, and it’s usually something new… altho I can’t think of a reason why someone shouldn’t write a review of something old ~ or that is new to *them*.

Strange question. Why do you ask?

I'm sure music critics usually do reviews on newer music (relevance and all that) but you can do a review on any album. It doesn't matter if it was released in the 40s or a week ago. For example, there are music blogs where the person will do a review on an album they listened to, usually to either convince people to listen to it, or convince them not to. Depending on the aim of the blog, the album could have been anything from some obscure 80s Latin album to 50 Cent's newest release.
