U2 surprised many experts and had a strong showing at the 48th Annual Grammy Awards, held Wednesday, February 8, in Los Angeles. The band won in all five categories it was nominated in, including the prestigious Album Of The Year award over albums by Gwen Stefani, Mariah Carey and tourmate Kanye West. An almost apologetic Bono took the stage at the end of the night for Album Of The Year after hugging Paul McCartney and kissing the hand of West. He gave kudos and encouragement to his fellow nominees. Backstage before the show an unapologetic Bono talked about why the band is at the 48th Grammy Awards and seemingly owning the awards for the last four or five years. Mariah had it hands down. I dont even wat songs U2 have made. This was Mariah time to shine. I see other ppl are agreeing with this subject. I just think ppl are just willing to bring her down. But Im glad she is the only solo artist to have the most #1 hits than any other artist. Beatles dont count cuz they r a group but I pray to God she out beats them. I luv u Mariah, may God bless you.

U2 is amazing but mariah HAD the best album of the year,and the best song. how is it possible to hav a 19 year career span with 18 number 1 and write ur own songs and only hav 5 grammy’s! it’s BS. come on nothing 4 butterfly! she was moninated for 6 grammys for daydream and got none! and that year one sweet day was the best song and still holds it’s record of 16 weeks
