When I rip a CD to MP3 or M4A format and then import to iTunes or RealPlayer the Artist and Album fields fill in along with the Song Title. When importing a ripped WAV file I only get the file name (populated under Song Title). Is there anyway to fix this?
No because WAV files do not support id3 tagging which is used to name the artist, album, year, track #, etc etc.
Just upgraded my iPod touch 2G to the 3.1.2 firmware, wen i sync wit iTunes 9, i noticed my compilatin albums (an album with different artist) are now scattered, before there were all in one compilation album. How can i get them to be in just that compilation album and not scattered?
I have already made them all the same Album Name
You have to re edit the song put a code ex: 001 to 050 then title and song artist, all same name in album & genre.
just right click the song & GET INFO, if wont let you do to the edit, convert them into ACC VERSION by right clicking & GET INFO again.
I am not talking about the small colums with the name, time, etc. I’m talking about those specific 3 bars at the top of my iTunes library, " genre, artist and, album.
If anyone can help me, please do so.
And another question sorry,
What is a terminal?
Left click on the bars you want to get rid of
A list should pop up and there will be a check to each catagory your itunes library is listing
To get rid of one, for example artist, click on artist to uncheck it and so on
Hope that helps! ^^
Is there a way to edit the album, track number, artist, genre, etc.. for mp3’s within Windows Explorer or does this have to be done directly in ITunes? If so, is there a program that can be downloaded for this purpose, as i found itunes runs rather slowly and i am trying to update a LOT of songs.
You can do it within Windows Media Player. WMP will go fetch all the info for you automatically.
Open WMP, click Tools > Options,
on the Player tab put a check in the box by ‘Connect to the Internet’,
on the Library tab put a check in the box by ‘Retrieve Additional Information from the Internet’, select Overwrite all media information’,
on the Privacy tab put a check in the box by ‘Display media information from the Internet’ and ‘Update music files by retrieving media info from the Internet’, click Apply, click OK. Close WMP, then reopen it. The process should start. It could take awhile if you have a lot of tunes. iTunes may have the same process, I dunno because I don’t use it
.
I’ve downloaded all the updates possible, but my itunes still won’t show the song name and artist and album, I have to type them manually. How do I fix this?
My itunes won’t read the song title or artist or album when I inport a new cd. They are not burned cds, how do I fix this?
Cd’s don’t have the information; artist, song, album available when on the computer. You may have to ask apple about it, it could be a cd not on iTunes, it uses itunes to find your cd’s information.
I hope you understanded that right
LOL

Pot luck but it might help.
Im trying to load some songs onto my mp3 player. My mp3 player lists them by artist/album etc.. but a few of my songs are listed as "unknown", they aren’t grouped by artist/album. How can i edit those details in linux?
It depends on the version of linux you’re using and the software you’ve got installed.
the task you need to perform is called ‘editing the id3 tag’ (just for future reference)
If you’ve got ubuntu (one way to tell is that everything is brown by default) you can install tagtool (if you don’t know how to install a program, check the ubuntu help).
Alternately, usually the media player you’re using (Rhythmbox?) has a tag editor built into it, in that case you could probably try right clicking the song and choosing ‘edit tag’ or a similar option.
Good luck!
is it only bands signed to major record labels?
For the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, albums must be released between Oct. 1, 2008 and August 31, 2009. Recordings must be in general distribution in the United States, i.e. sales by label to a branch or recognized independent distributor, via the Internet, or mail order/retail sales for a nationally marketed product.
In the music menu, the artist "System Of A Down" Shows up twice in a row, and for both listings, one album is listed twice. Also, the same album is listed twice in the coverflow menu. For all of it, there is no difference in which songs are listed. There is no different spelling or information on Itunes. Does anyone know how to fix this?
if anyone of the infos are different( such as album artist or composer)cover flow would show the same album twice. try making the album part as a compilation
I’m an independent music artist and cannot for the life of me find someone who does album covers/art. I know I have to get the photography done elsewhere but I need someone who can manipulate that into a good album cover. Can someone point me in the right direction? I’d appreciate it!
