Why is Red album getting bad reviews?

Pitchfork gave it a 4.8/10 and rolling stone gave it a 2 /5.These suckas don’t know nothing its a solid 8.
I forgot this section is full of coons and rednecks

The Strokes New Album Reviews?

because it’s streaming on their website!

Well….this is tough because I grew up with The Strokes and in fact I’m driving 10 hours to go see them at SXSW tomorrow morning. I only like 3 songs from this album and the rest just doesn’t feel like the strokes I love (That was alot harder to type then it seems :’[ ) but I was reading an interview on their new album and it sounds like they aren’t all that satisfied with the final product either and are aiming to throw out a fifth album soon after this one (cross your fingers). But this album is at the bottom of the list compared to the others if you ask me but I still love them regardless.

Do you look at music reviews before buying an album?

I almost always do. Not before listening to one, mind you, but before buying it.

BQ: Where do you go for them?

I go to Allmusic for older music (they have archives), Pitchfork for new alternative music (and musical suggestions), and The Onion A.V. club for new music in general

Yes I do, almost always actually.

BQ: Unfortunately I am a user of Pitchfork (no I’m not pretentious). But I most often use the aggregating website Any Decent Music:

It’s the only accurate aggregating website in my opinion and that post good music on it.

I never listen to or read reviews. I don’t care if you work for Rolling Stone or the New York Times. You are giving your opinion on something that appeals to many different people. There is no way I’m going to waste my time following your words.

Where can I submit album reviews and get paid?

Music is my first passion but as of right now I’m a journalist for a magazine that doesn’t cover music. I want to put music clips in my portfolio to try and write for a music magazine in the future. In the meantime does any one know any good sites where I can get paid fir writing album reviews?

contact newspapers (usually the Sunday editions) and magazines that DO review music

don’t expect to find a gig right away of at all and you might not get paid at first or ever or very little

forget websites – you would never get paid for reviews anywhere online – too many free reviewing sites already

The Subliminal verses vol 3some people didnt really like that album and the reviews were not great except Kerrangs but i think its a great album.
