    “Nightfall” was David Lanz’s second album. Purely solo piano, this album contains some of Lanz’s classics. The album contains six tracks that range from four to ten minutes in length, giving the record a relaxed, leisurely feeling. The pieces include “Leaves on the Seine,” “Courage of the Wind,” Water From the Moon,” and “Faces of the Forest.” “Nightfall” is still available in its original form, and also as a remastered set with “Heartsounds,” Lanz’s debut recording on Narada.

    How do I play different albums by different artists together on the ipod touch?

    Posted by admin on March 1st, 2010 and filed under albums | 1 Comment »

    Basically whenever i select an album and play it, it is fine, but then i try to play another album with it (i want to shuffle) it takes off the first album I put on and replaces it. I want the first one to stay on so I can shuffle the albums together. I hope I explained this well. The two albums are by different artists.

    Go to your playlist list and select On-The-Go, and then Edit. Add both albums to the playlist, and save it. You can shuffle it, and add any songs/albums you want. It’s not permanent, so as soon as you want to make a new on the go playlist, you can. Or you can save it when you sync your iPod on your computer. :D Hope this helps.

    What are the 5 most important Grunge albums from a music history perspective AND that you also find AMAZING?

    Posted by admin on February 27th, 2010 and filed under albums | 5 Comments »

    NOTE – This question has a 3 step process.

    Step 1: Pick the most significant grunge albums from a music history perspective;

    Step 2: For each album noted in Step 1, eliminate all albums that you do not find the ENTIRE album COMPLETELY and unequivocally AMAZING;

    Step 3: Now, look at the albums that survived Step 2, and PICK THE BEST 5 albums out of that set. List those albums below.

    1. Dry as a bone/Rehab Doll – Green River
    2. Superfuzz Bigmuff Plus Early Singles – Mudhoney
    3. 8 Way Santa – Tad
    4. Even If and Especially When – Screaming Trees
    5. Gentlemen – The Afghan Whigs

    What are some albums on which the drums are very high in the mix?

    Posted by admin on February 25th, 2010 and filed under albums | 11 Comments »

    albums where the drums are very dominant and almost overpowers the other instruments.

    I got that feeling on Closer by Joy Division.

    Any others?

    I’ll extend on your Closer and say that pretty much every album that Martin Hannett ever produced. Hannett was obsessed with drums.

    Also War by U2 is fairly heavy on the drums.

    Haunting Knockout Version of – “Caruso” by Lara Fabian

    Posted by admin on February 23rd, 2010 and filed under albums | 25 Comments »

    A true stage dynamo, Lara always leaves the viewer breathless with her gutsy delivery and matching gestures. Nobody moves like her !! Here she uses her talent as a dramatic actress to make the Italian classic “Caruso” come to life, and she does so in a way that rips the viewer’s hearts in a million pieces but makes you thank the heavens you’re alive to witness such beauty and authentic talent.
    Trained as Lyric Soprano

    Italian-Belgian pop singer Lara Fabian was born to be a superstar diva. She was classically trained as a child, and at 18 she flew to Quebec to begin her career as a solo artist. There she released 3 successful albums, but soon the territory proved to be small for Lara’s ambition and talent. So in 1996 she launched her career in France with album Pure which sold 2million, and her international career took off in 1999 when Sony Music launched her first album with the hit “I Will Love Again”. Since then, Lara has released more albums and DVDs and collaborated with Josh Groban, David Foster and Walter Afanasieff. Rush to buy her albums, you’ll never go back

    I want to start listening to Classical Music. What ALBUMS should I start with?

    Posted by admin on February 21st, 2010 and filed under albums | 6 Comments »

    Ive been listening to Yo-Yo Ma and love him. But I also like loud orchestral pieces. What albums should I start listening to?

    You might want to consider samplers (in addition to the excellent suggestions you’ve already received–I approve completely). Loud orchestral pieces can be had cheaply in such collections as "25 Thunderous Classics" which costs less than $5. It doesn’t take a world-class orchestra to lay down a good recording, and you’ll discover composers you like by listening to samplings of many works.
