Posted by admin on February 23rd, 2010 and filed under albums | 1 Comment »

I have more than 6 photo albums in facebook, and thus they overflow onto multiple pages. Is there a facebook app or some method to change the number of albums displayed per page? Also is there a way to increase the number of albums shown on the sidebar on your profle page?

Sorry there is no way. Its the default setting and there is no way to change it right now

I want to start listening to Classical Music. What ALBUMS should I start with?

Posted by admin on February 21st, 2010 and filed under albums | 6 Comments »

Ive been listening to Yo-Yo Ma and love him. But I also like loud orchestral pieces. What albums should I start listening to?

You might want to consider samplers (in addition to the excellent suggestions you’ve already received–I approve completely). Loud orchestral pieces can be had cheaply in such collections as "25 Thunderous Classics" which costs less than $5. It doesn’t take a world-class orchestra to lay down a good recording, and you’ll discover composers you like by listening to samplings of many works.

How to separate songs into different albums?

Posted by admin on February 16th, 2010 and filed under albums | 1 Comment »

I burned a CD with a bunch of songs from different singers and albums. Now, I can’t separate the songs/ specify their album because when I rip it the songs are automatically filed into the same album.

How can I change the details of each song and separate them?

If you are using iTunes, right-click the song you want to edit, then press Get Info. Under the Info Tab, there should be a section that describes what album the song is from. Just put the real name of what album the song is actually from.

What are some great songs or albums to have in the background while reading Poetry?

Posted by admin on February 14th, 2010 and filed under albums | 1 Comment »

I find instrumental albums are good for this. Of course it depends on the Poet you are reading what mood you want to be in.

    Good evening Law Man :)

As you say, instrumental albums are best ~ though even some of those can be distracting at times!

My personal choices, depending on the poet / mood of the poems I’m reading, would include :~

The Boys from County Nashville ~ "The Celtic Tribute to Led Zeppelin: Long Ago and Far Away"
Dave Bruebeck Quartet ~ "Time Out"
    Vangellis ~ "Chariots of Fire"
Harvestman ~ "Lashing the Rye" and "In a Dark Tongue"
Mike Oldfield ~ "Hergest Ridge" ; "Ommadawn" and parts of "Incantations"
Dan Gibson (Solitudes) ~ "Rolling Thunder"
North Sounds ~ "Blues Wolf" and "Jazz Wolf"
Herbie Hancock ~ "The New Standards"
Toumani Diabate ~ "Kaira" ; "Songhai" and "The Mandé Variations"

Got carried away with albums, forgot individual tracks :~
    ‘The Lark Ascending’ ~ Vaughn-Williams
‘Adagio for Strings’ ~ Samuel Barber

What are other Joni Mitchell albums that are very similar to her Song to a Seagull album?

Posted by admin on February 11th, 2010 and filed under albums | 1 Comment »

I LOVE her sound in her first album Song to a Seagull. It’s so simple, acoustic, bare and her voice is so beautiful!
What other albums of Joni’s are like her first?
I don’t necessarily like the poppy Joni stuff. Just that beautiful acoustic chill folksy sound of her first album.

Go for CLOUDS, LADIES OF THE CANYON, BLUE and FOR THE ROSES.

David Lanz about the album Beloved:
“The process of selecting my most ‘romantic’ music for this collection offered the perfect opportunity to reflect on just what qualities or elements I feel ‘romance’ embodies. What immediately comes to mind is the special something two people experience when love is in the air. Beyond this though, romance is so much more – something many of us yearn for at a deeper soul level. When we look into the eyes of another, or when we view a breathtaking sunset, or we see the radiance in the face of an innocent child, what we really see is the reflection of soul… our beloved.”
