Jay Reatard – Watch Me Fall was released 8/18/09 on Matador Records
I am new to the whole Jay Reatard thing. I was first turned on to him from my good buddy, theneedledrop. Watch Me Fall is a very very catchy garage rock with pop and punk elements thrown in. Jay is a very talented song writer. His songs are short, to the point, and did I say catchy? Drums are very old sounding, guitars are pretty twangy, and his vocal style is very unique. He also makes great use of organs, cellos, and more! I could of gotten more aggression and fuzz on the guitars but this was a pretty laid back, happy at times record.
8.5/10

From wikipedia:
Going for the One is the eighth studio album by British progressive rock band Yes. It was released in 1977 after an extended break for solo activity, and is especially notable for marking the return of keyboardist Rick Wakeman, who had departed in 1974 in the aftermath of the Tales from Topographic Oceans tour. His re-entry was facilitated by the departure of Patrick Moraz, after having only played on Relayer, although Moraz is thanked in the credits.
After their extended break, the band regrouped in Switzerland, refreshed and ready to record in late 1976. The album was recorded at Mountain Studios by recording engineers John Timperley and David Richards. After constructing epic tracks for the last few years, Yes felt inspired to scale things back a bit and recorded some of their most direct and concise material since Fragile. Wakeman also varied his sound by largely forsaking his mellotron and experimenting with church organ on “Parallels” and the sole extended track, “Awaken”.
Century Plaza Towers
After many successive album covers with Roger Dean, Yes (who also produced the album entirely by themselves) instead commissioned Hipgnosis (known for designing album covers for Pink Floyd) to create the artwork for Going for the One. The album cover features the Century Plaza Towers in Los Angeles, also known locally as the Twin Towers.
Yes’s return at the height of the punk movement was an unexpectedly successful one, with Going for the One reaching the pinnacle of the UK charts and even having a Top 10 hit single with “Wondrous Stories” – something that would have been considered impossible during the days of Tales from Topographic Oceans. The album was another U.S. Top 10 charting album for the band reaching #8 on the Billboard album chart in 1977.
With its confident and natural qualities, Going for the One is still generally regarded by most critics as one of Yes’s finest, and many times, most underrated albums. In addition, the song “Awaken” is considered by many fans to be Yes’s finest work, and Jon Anderson has said “We had a hit record! I loved listening to ‘Awaken’, at last we had created a Masterwork” 1 and has indicated in some interviews that he considers it to be Yes’s most complete composition. 2

Chaka Khan
Real Name:Carole Yvette Marie Stevens
Profile:Born 23rd March 1953, Great Lakes Naval Training Station, Illinois, U.S.A., Chaka Khan was raised on Chicago’s South Side, and at the age of 11 formed her first group, the Crystalettes. While still in high school, she joined the Afro-Arts Theater, a group which toured with Motown great Mary Wells; a few years later, she adopted the African name Chaka Khan while working on the Black Panthers’ breakfast program. After quitting high school in 1969, Khan joined the group Lyfe, soon exiting to join another dance band, the Babysitters; neither was on the fast track to success, but her fortunes changed when she teamed with ex-American Breed member Kevin Murphy and Andre Fisher to form Rufus.
Debuting in 1973 with a self-titled effort on the ABC label, Rufus was among the preeminent funk groups of the decade; distinguished by Khan’s dynamic vocals, the group earned half a dozen gold or platinum albums before she went solo in 1978.
Chaka began her solo career with the hit, “Im Every Woman,” a tune written especially for her by the songwriting team of Ashford & Simpson. Since then, Chaka has recorded nine albums and been honored with five Grammy Awards. Her solo hits include “What Cha Gonna Do For Me?” “Clouds,” “Papillion,” “I Feel For You,” and “Through The Fire.”

LYRICS –
You reeled me in with your smile
You made me melt with your voice
AndI’ve been gone now for a while
Just to find that I’m your seventh choice
And I don’t wanna pay the cost
But it’d be best if you get lost
‘Cause we know you’ll never change
Don’t say that you need me
And don’t play these games with my mind
You better get out of my head
‘Cause you’re wasting your time
And don’t say it’s forever
And don’t play, ’cause you had your shot
You better stop messing around
‘Cause you’re gonna get caught
You promised me all of your time
I guess I’m not they only one
But see, it’s my heart on the line this time
I’m your number one, or I’m gone
Don’t say that you need me
And don’t play these games with my mind
You better get out of my head
‘Cause you’re wasting your time
And don’t say it’s forever
And don’t play, ’cause you had your shot
You better stop messing around
‘Cause you’re gonna get caught
Go and try to get me back
(You won’t get me back, you won’t get me back)
I won’t forget about our past
(I won’t forget, no)
I never had the guts to leave
Now you’re making it
(You know you’re making it)
Now you’re making it
(You’re making it)
Much easier for me to see
Don’t say that you sorry
For breaking every inch of my heart
I should have known from the start
Now it’s all just a lie
Don’t say that you need me
And don’t play these games with my mind
You better get out of my head
‘Cause you’re wating your time
Don’t say it’s forever
And don’t play, ’cause you had you shot
You better stop messing around
‘Cause you’re gonna get caught
You better stop messing around
‘Cause you’re gonna get caught
